Since the passage of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) in 1965, school districts have been required to provide equitable services to private school students, teachers, and in some cases, other education personnel, and parents under a number of federal programs.

+ Computer Science Education 2018–19 Competitive Grant Opportunity

The 2017 Washington State Legislature allocated $1,000,000 of the general fund in Fiscal Year 2018 and $1,000,000 in Fiscal Year 2019 for computer science education (ESSB 5883, Sec. 501, 35).

+ 2017-18 Instruction and Assessment Reporting Requirements for Social Studies, the Arts, Health, Physical Education, and Educational Technology

Since the 2008–09 school year, school districts have reported their implementation of assessments in Social Studies, the Arts, Health, and Physical Education. In addition, beginning with the 2011–12 school year, districts that choose to implement Educational Technology assessments must report this information in addition to the annual reporting for the other subject areas. Reporting was previously collected through iGrants Form Package 408.
